This page is a list of official policies that must be followed when editing on WOWRP.

Naming conventions

Like in Wikipedia, definite and indefinite articles should be avoided in the page names.

Character naming conventions

These are official policies for how you create articles on your character or official Warcraft characters on WOWRP.

Unofficial characters

If you create want to write a bio on your character in World of Warcraft, please use one of the following convention.

• "First name Surname"
• "First name"

If a name already exists on "First name" use the "First name Surname" version. Under no circumstances do you use any of the following.

• Character:Name
• User:Name
  • This is the "project name space", so here you can tell the world who the RL you are if you feel like it, or other things relating to you as a person. Should not be used for character information.

If "First name Surname" is taken (which is highly unlikely), you can use "First name (server)" or "First name Surname (server)".

Page layout

There is no directly official way of doing the layout for a page, but there are some templates and categories that must be included in different types of pages.

Unofficial characters

At the top of the page place the tag:

• {{ol}}.

At the bottom add:

• [[Category:Characters]]
• [[Category:Your Server (region)]]
  • ex. [[Category:Defias Brotherhood (EU)]]
• [[Category:Race]]
  • ex. [[Category:Forsaken]]
• [[Category:Gender]]
  • ex. [[Category:Female]]
• [[Category:Class]]
  • ex. [[Category:Mage]]

If you decide to use the profile box you can disregard adding categories for race, gender and class. As these will be added by the box itself.

This is so that your character can be easily found by other visitors.

Deletion

To tag an article for deletion, add {{delete}} to the top of the articles page.

Stories / fan fiction

Remember to use the template {{ol}} at the top of the story, and {{rights|username here}} at the bottom. Please keep in mind that the username is the same as the one you use to login to WOWRP.
